Originating in the early Edo period at the post town of Otsu on the Tokaido road, Otsu-e paintings began as religious paintings, but evolved into humorous works rich in morals, gaining popularity. One set was bought at a souvenir shop and is in a clear plastic bag. The set with wrapping paper is 700 yen. The set in the clear plastic bag is 650 yen. Both sets together are 1220 yen.
