Size: M Width: 55cm Length: 67cm Shoulder Width: 47cm This SUN SURF x Hokusai Special Edition Aloha shirt is a collaboration between the Sumida Hokusai Museum, located in Sumida-ku, Tokyo, the birthplace of Hokusai, and Toyo Enterprises, also located in Sumida-ku. "Hyaku Monogatari" (One Hundred Stories) was a game of telling ghost stories that was popular in the Edo period. On summer nights, people gathered under the light of candles and lanterns, taking turns telling ghost stories. It was said that when the 100th story was finished, something strange would happen. This series of works by Hokusai is named after that game. Initially, it was thought that nearly 100 prints were planned. This time, four representative works from Hokusai's "Hyaku Monogatari" series (Sarayashi, Warai Hannya, Oiwa-san, and Kohada Koheiji) have been collaged and presented as a single work. This "Hyaku Monogatari" Aloha shirt reproduces Hokusai's work on the shirt using Japan's world-renowned printing technology.
