This is a King 80th Anniversary Model 2B SGX, released exclusively in Japan. It features the same gorgeous hand-engraving as the 3B model used by J.J. Johnson. Only 80 of these were made, along with the 3B model. The hand-engraved marking "#3" inside the balancer suggests this is likely the third one produced out of the 80. I purchased this from a collector friend. Although I bought it, I felt it was too precious to use, so after a few test plays, I had the inside of the tubing cleaned and the soft parts replaced at a shop, and have been carefully storing it. I thought it was a waste to keep it without playing it, so I'm putting it up for sale. ※I may withdraw the listing suddenly if it doesn't sell at this price, as I also have a desire to keep it as part of my collection. The gold plating is slightly worn on the parts touched by the hands, but the rest of the plating is in very good condition. There are no dents or repair marks, and apart from the aforementioned wear, it is in mint condition, like new. (Slight discoloration of the plating is visible due to long-term storage) The 2B model of the 80th Anniversary model is particularly rare, with fewer units produced out of the 80, making it a valuable instrument that is rarely seen on the market.
