Appearing plain from a distance, this "Hitoe" (single-layered) Oshima Tsumugi silk kimono features a unique design combining tortoise shell patterns and T-shapes, neatly arranged with subtle color accents, promising an encounter with fluttering flowers (*^^*) Worn between mid-May and the end of June, and again in September, bridging the summer season, "Hitoe" kimonos are characterized by their light and comfortable feel, as they are made without lining. They are perfect as a transitional garment when it's too hot for lined kimonos but the thin summer fabrics aren't quite right, or as a lifesaver when you're unsure what to wear due to fluctuating temperatures in the summer!
