Kennin-ji Temple Flower Calendar Tea As the hot Kyoto summer ends and the weather cools down, cute white flowers begin to bloom on the hedges of Kennin-ji Temple. Belonging to the Camellia family, these white flowers, similar to camellias and sasanquas, are called tea flowers. The flowers are much smaller than camellias and sasanquas, and the voluminous stamens and the round shape of the buds and petals that enclose them are very cute. These tea flowers are beautifully depicted with plenty of gold paint, and it is very elegant. This item is lovely just by displaying it as is.
