I bought it about 6 or 7 years ago. There are fine scratches overall from use. There is dirt on the back. Also, there is a slight adhesive mark, possibly from glue, near the middle of the scale on the back. I tried hard to wipe it off, but I couldn't remove it completely. However, it should be fine for use as a ruler. This item only. There is no case or anything like that.
