I used this 7mm drysuit without any problems for kayaking in a snowy river in the Tohoku region. I bought it new and only used it for one season, so it's still soft and in good condition. Even with repeated, aggressive freestyle kayak rolls, there was only a small amount of water leakage. I haven't used it for surfing. The zipper is very sturdy and I think it's a good product.
