Viewing is possible. Overview In the early 1st century AD, during the reign of Emperor Nero in the Roman Empire. General Marcus Vinicius returned to Rome after a three-year expedition. Nero indulged in poetry and debauchery, immersed in the sweet words of Marcus's uncle Petronius, and his wife Poppaea held sway in the palace. Marcus, driven by his desire to marry the young and beautiful Princess Lygia, was granted permission by Nero, but Lygia refused his courtship and disappeared. Marcus, with the help of a fortune teller, searched for her and learned that Lygia was a follower of the forbidden Christian religion.
