This is a set of two Boy Scout commemorative patches. Probably difficult to obtain in Japan. Rare. ① This is a Boy Scout patch from the California Inland Empire Council. The slogan "A SCOUT IS HELPFUL" is written on it. It depicts a scout rescuing a child from a raging fire. On the right is the fleur-de-lis, the Boy Scout symbol. "FOS 2003" is written on it, which is related to the "Friends of Scouting" program in 2003. ② "DESERT PACIFIC COUNCIL" and "MATAGUAY SCOUT RESERVATION" indicate that this is related to an event of the Desert Pacific Council at the Mataguay Scout Reservation in San Diego, California. The words "40 YEARS OF ADVENTURE" and "1956 1996" indicate that it commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Mataguay Scout Reservation. A cow skull and horns, and the fleur-de-lis symbol are depicted.
