Edo Komon: Same Komon (Shark Pattern) This is an Edo Komon fabric with the Same Komon pattern, considered the most prestigious pattern in Edo Komon. The pattern represents shark skin, and because shark skin is tough, it is likened to armor, carrying the meaning of "warding off evil and protecting against misfortune" (^^) I have not conducted a detailed inspection or measurement of the entire fabric. However, there are stains on the front and back of the initially unfolded area due to aging, so I am offering it at a reduced price. It is a very elegant purple Same Komon. I purchased it for 80,000 yen at a kimono shop, but it has been stored for a long time without being made into a garment.
