A valuable item from Creil et Montereau, late 19th century. "Dantel" (meaning lace) is the name of this Bro et Vasque set. It is a set consisting of a pitcher and a washbasin. The beautiful vessels feature a white ceramic base with blue-gray depictions of wildflowers such as poppies and daisies, along with a lace background. The composition of the floral designs on the rims and sides of the washbasin is truly characteristic of the Creil et Montereau kiln. This item dates back to a time when French homes did not yet have bathrooms or washrooms. It would be wonderful to use it as a flower vase or as an interior decoration for a bathroom or bedroom. The pitcher has a repaired chip on the spout and a chip on the underside. The basin also has chips and crazing. The washbasin has areas with lime deposits from the hard French water. Pitcher: Approximately 18cm in diameter, 22cm in width, and 14cm in height. Washbasin: Approximately 36cm in diameter and 10cm in height. Total weight: Approximately 2400g Considering the age, including the stains, small chips, and repairs, I believe it is in good condition. This item was purchased from an antique shop.
