This is a Nagoya obi with a roughly woven texture in a pale vermillion color. I believe it would be considered a casual obi, but it is elegant and features a lovely peony pattern. The reverse side has threads running across it. It is a single-layered obi, with the taiko (drum) part being double-layered.
