This is a fukuro obi (formal obi) with a tsujigahana design from the renowned Kubota Itchiku Kobo, known for their tsujigahana creations. It features a rare framed construction for a fukuro obi. Framed construction is not often seen in fukuro obi these days. The first Itchiku Kubota was a world-renowned dyer, highly regarded for his efforts in reviving the tsujigahana dyeing and decorative techniques that were lost from the late 15th to the early 16th centuries! Tsujigahana kimono are something everyone dreams of owning♪ I myself own many tsujigahana kimono and obi from Yoshino Kazuto and Suizan Kobo, but when I held a Kubota Itchiku tsujigahana piece, I was deeply moved and purchased it♪ I am organizing my kimono collection and would like to offer this one for sale!
