Old Noritake, Overseas Export Porcelain from the Same Period ☆ Old Nippon, Great Masterpiece! Gold-Gilded Etching, Kusarashi Technique Decoration, Cabinet Cup & Saucer Made in the early 1900s. We have acquired a beautiful and valuable Old Nippon masterpiece in miraculously excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. This piece was made for the United States in the mid-Meiji era. The paulownia crest is a mark of quality, ranking alongside Noritake among the many Old Nippon pieces. The decoration is applied using the Kusarashi technique, a method used only for high-end products. This technique involves applying a random ground pattern with chemicals, then covering it with gold gilding. The additional gold gilding creates a beautiful texture reminiscent of an iron kettle's surface. The Kusarashi technique is technically challenging and requires a great deal of effort compared to standard gold gilding. We were fortunate enough to acquire this piece, but items in such good condition are becoming increasingly rare and valuable year by year. It is a beautiful item with no chips or other damage. We highly recommend that you inquire and consider purchasing this item soon, as it will be difficult to obtain when you want it. In addition to using it for tea, it is an item that can be displayed in a cabinet with the sense of displaying tasteful art. Please acquire it as an item that will change the impression of your room. Size: Cup Diameter 9.7cm Height 5cm Saucer Diameter 13.5cm There is slight wear on the gold gilding in some places. It is not noticeable, but there is a small spot of gold gilding flaking on the foot of the cup (see image). Otherwise, it is in very good condition overall. We hope it can be delivered to someone who will cherish it. We hope it can be delivered to someone who will cherish it. We also have rare vintage and antique items for sale.
