It's solid black, not brown-cored. I remember the leather quality of the early and first half models being stiff, but this one is relatively soft and easy to wear. No major damage or stains. The top button is missing, but the detached button is included. I had it resized at a leather repair shop because I wanted to wear it fitted at the time. It fits me perfectly, and I was 170cm tall and slender at the time, but please refer to the actual measurements. The width and upper arm area have been reduced in two places. The length has not been altered.
