This is a set of the sleeper limited express Hokutosei with a full train formation and locomotive. The locomotive's motor and lights are both in good working order. The passenger cars with faded gold bands were purchased used, while those with the color remaining were purchased new. It is likely a mixed consist of East Japan and Hokkaido formations. Only the locomotive and the last car are KATO products. All cars have been replaced with KATO couplers. The locomotive's headmark is not included.
