This is a Kobukusa (old silk cloth). Please use it when serving matcha or as a mat. 【Cloth】 Made of genuine silk Oshima Tsumugi, this color is very rare. It's a muted salmon pink, reminiscent of persimmon-dyed fabric. The color is calm, and when expressed in ancient colors, it's a slightly diluted version of Koetsu tea color. It also has the understated luster unique to Oshima Tsumugi. Furthermore, when you enlarge the woven pattern, you can see that it's a "Katasu-shiki" (T-shaped) weave. This explains the subtle sense of luxury. The pattern is an abstract floral (camellia) design, a simple and cute floral pattern. Therefore, you can use it regardless of the season, likening it to the flowers that bloom in that season, not just camellias. As it is a Kobukusa, it has been stiffened with a core for a crisp finish. 【Size】 The traditional size of Kobukusa used in the Urasenke school of tea ceremony. It is also used in Kodo (incense ceremony). Finished size: Made with a template of 5 sun (15.2cm) x 5 sun 3 bu (16.3cm), but please allow for slight variations. 【Sewing Method】 Three sides are sewn, and the short side of 5 sun is a "wa" (folded edge). There are no knotting threads. ❤️ Since it is new, there are no creases in the center.
