Visiting kimono of my mother-in-law, made of silk. This was custom-made by my mother-in-law at a kimono shop in Osaka, worn twice, cleaned, and then stored. It's a very elaborate kimono with a transparent, eye-catching blue and a darker blue gradation, featuring Swatow embroidery. It has no family crest. It's a wonderful visiting kimono, full of poetic feeling, with beautiful, traditional Japanese flowers blooming gracefully against a backdrop of flowing water in a temple. Subdued gold is used effectively and luxuriously, but it's not flashy, and it gives a sense of dignity and a world beyond this world, like a paradise. Please wear it to weddings, ceremonies, parties, theater performances, Shichi-Go-San festivals, and graduation/entrance ceremonies, regardless of age. Younger people will find it adds a touch of composure and glamour, while older people will find it exudes elegance. It's very beautiful, but upon close inspection, there is a slight line on the collar and some white spots that look like uneven dyeing in a few places, but I don't think it will be noticeable when worn.
