This is the Tony Smith OD-60 overdrive pedal. It's said to have a circuit almost identical to the Boss SD-1. Unlike recent surface-mount effectors, it's properly implemented with a printed circuit board and through-hole components. It also uses a JRC4558D op-amp, and I think the essential difference from the aforementioned effector is only in the component values. The sound is also almost the same overdrive as the famous SD-1 and TS9. The quality is different from the distortion of a multi-effector. The tone when pushing the amp feels slightly thinner with this unit, but regarding the distortion, I honestly think you wouldn't be able to tell the difference in a blind test. As the attached photos show a clear circuit, wouldn't it be fun to modify and play with it? There's no scratchiness, and it works without any problems.
