Original canvas book cover (bunko edition) from Kuma no Ie (Bear's House) in Akan Kotan, nestled deep in the eastern mountains of Ainu Moshiri, embraced by the great outdoors. The fabric is canvas. The design of Kuma no Ie is traditional yet modern, featuring Ainu patterns that resonate with the soul. Kuma no Ie stands out in Akan Lake Ainu Kotan, an establishment started in 1964 by wood carver Takeki Fujito. In addition to the variety of folk crafts available as souvenirs, the private ethnographic museum in the basement houses works by Takeki Fujito and his son, Kohei. I purchased this item a few years ago when I visited Akan Lake Ainu Kotan, but I rarely read paperback books, so I haven't used it. (Although it's not visible in the photos, there is a faint linear stain in the lower left corner of the fifth photo.) I would be happy if someone who is interested in this item finds it appealing.
