This is a custom-made barrel. It fits brands like Buffet Crampon, Yamaha, and Backun. The exterior is made of genuine purpleheart wood, and a grenadilla insert inside helps to control the wavering tone often associated with softer woods. It has been specifically shaped to match R13 series and third-generation inner bore clarinets, and especially for B♭ clarinets, it has been adjusted to 64.5mm to allow for playing at A4=442Hz with American-pitch mouthpieces or crystal mouthpieces.
