I deconstructed a Meisen haori (outer garment) and made a long flared skirt. *Regarding pricing, please read my profile for an explanation. The original haori is shown in photos 16-19. It was in beautiful condition with the basting stitches still intact, but there were some stains that appeared to have occurred during storage. They are not very noticeable due to the pattern, but please check the photos (photos 13, 14, and 15, center). I put in three long tucks in the front and back to reduce the volume. Although there is plenty of gathering, the tucks make the waist and hips look neat. The skirt features a white background, close to gray, with a pop of gray and yellow-orange leaves and red berries. It's a very cute pattern. Meisen is a bit too light for the fall and winter, but the pattern is perfect for the season, so I made it hoping someone would wear it. It has a luster and the characteristic firmness of Meisen, which is lovely. Because it's a sturdy fabric, you can make it work in the coming seasons if you consider the inner layers. Silk fabric is expensive, so I can't easily buy fabric to make things. It's a lot of work to deconstruct vintage clothing, but it's wonderful to be able to enjoy the feel of silk in everyday life. Another good point is that you can enjoy the unique colors and combinations that are characteristic of Japan. I enjoy sewing using only straight stitches. I upcycle old kimonos, obi (sashes), and furoshiki (wrapping cloths) such as tsumugi, Meisen, and komon. Please consider purchasing if you understand that there may be remaining threads, small holes, stains from used items, distortions, double stitching, etc. *Please avoid washing as much as possible. After wearing, hang it on a hanger and let it air out. *Everything except the skirt is for photography purposes. *There is no lining. Please use a petticoat when wearing. Material: Believed to be silk Size Skirt length: Approximately 80cm Waist Elastic is inserted with a width of 2cm, assuming a free size (approximately 66cm). It has been made with some give. *If you are concerned about the waist elastic size, please let me know in the comments. I will adjust it before shipping.
