Ikuo Hirayama was a Japanese Nihonga painter and educator. His court rank was Junior Third Rank. His decorations included the Order of Culture. He was a professor emeritus at Tokyo University of the Arts and a Person of Cultural Merit. He held positions such as professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, president of Tokyo University of the Arts, chairman of the board of directors of the Foundation for the Promotion of Cultural Property Protection, chairman of the Japan Scholarship Foundation, chairman of the board of directors of the Japan Art Institute, and special curator of the Tokyo National Museum.
