Bwami was not merely a religious organization; it embodied the value of **"beauty = good"** and was a society for learning how to live as a person. The design of three faces lined up is not merely decorative, but is also said to simultaneously symbolize multiple virtues such as "wisdom, harmony, and virtue." The changing expression depending on the viewing angle may be due to this. The remaining white pigment is natural kaolin (white clay).
