Julien Gracq (real name: Louis Poirier, July 27, 1910 - December 22, 2007) French writer. He continued to write while working as a high school teacher, and authored novels, criticism, and several poems. Deeply influenced by André Breton's surrealism and the German Romanticism of Novalis and Friedrich Hölderlin, his fantastical style was said to be close to that of Ernst Jünger of Germany, whom he openly adored.
