A set of driftwood collected from the west coast of the Noto Peninsula, where my parents' home is. There are approximately 60 pieces of various lengths, shapes, materials, and colors. The longest piece is about 40 centimeters. Collected from the coast, they were naturally dried, lightly cleaned, photographed, and then bagged. As with most coastlines, pine trees have long been planted on the Noto Peninsula as windbreaks. Branches of pine trees broken by the strong winter winds fall onto the coast, and after years of being tossed by the rough waves, they turn white and return to the shore, where I collected them. However, branches from other trees are also mixed in.
