Maxon SD9 Sonic Distortion MOD for sale. This is a modified SD9, the result of two and a half years of research, comparing the sound and recording the component values of vintage and current models. The modification concept is to combine the best aspects of the vintage models (good sound but lacking power) and the current models (powerful but thin sound). Based on a current model, I aimed for a powerful sound with more depth, dimension, and thickness than the vintage models, without altering the circuit. Development was carried out using multiple SD-9 units, constantly comparing them. ----------------------------------------------- 【Three Essential Elements for Sound Quality Improvement】 (1) JRC4558D op-amp (glossy type, only from 1980 or 1981) (2) Puretone jacks (3) Vintage solder for signal lines 【Other Changes】 (1) Ultra-bright LED (color selectable) (2) Knobs and pots (3) Replacement of wiring with domestic AWG24 wire equivalent to the original, only where necessary 【Remarks】 (1) Used units are used for the body to reduce manufacturing costs. (2) Op-amp sockets are not used because they impair the low frequencies. (3) The gauge of the wiring should not be changed. (4) 22 types of vintage solder were tested, and the best was selected. ----------------------------------------------- This ver.3 Hybrid uses Multicore SAVBIT solder from the UK's ERSIN company from the 1940s-1950s as the base, with ver.10 solder from the US WENSLEY METAL company from the 1940s-1950s used only for the jacks and switches. Compared to ver.8-10, ver.1-6 has a slightly less hi-fi feel, but using ver.10 for the jacks and switches compensates for this. The alloy ratio is sn50 / pb48 / cu1.5 / sb0.5 Not only does it have a hi-fi sound with a biting feel, but the unique, rich MID is a characteristic of this Multicore SAVBIT. Needless to say, the touch of the left hand and the subtle nuances of picking all come out as sound. I have this mod on my BOSS DS-1 and use it on my board.
