I went yarn shopping because I wanted to knit a Sophie Hood. This is baby cashmere, a special find. I decided on this yarn for one piece. I'm having trouble deciding on the color~ It's a shiny yarn that becomes fluffy as you knit. An elegant mocha color. It's very light and fluffy and soft. It doesn't feel scratchy against the neck. The thickness doesn't look much different from Opal 4-ply, but it's because it's fluffy. Cream color sample. I've included comparison images. The Opal yarn is not included in the product. There are 350m in 50g. Will it result in a lighter piece...? I tried knitting various swatches. Mocha color is 2 strands with a 3.5mm needle. Cream color is 3 strands with a 5mm needle. Blue gray is 2 strands with a 5mm needle. Orange brown is 1 strand with a 3.5mm needle. It looks like it will have a very delicate finish. Please use this as a reference. The swatches are not included in the product. 1-2 strands for a Sophie Scarf 3 strands for a Sophie Hood, it feels good. The small attached yarn is a very thin, stretchy yarn. I usually use it for ribbing parts like cuffs, but I think it will make the fabric firmer if you knit it throughout.
