This is the "Dairyu Shishi Kabuto" (Great Dragon Lion Helmet), crafted using the techniques of Takaoka Copperware, a traditional craft with over 400 years of history in Toyama Prefecture. This helmet is a work by master craftsman Zuicho, and is a May doll (helmet decoration) characterized by its majestic dragon and lion embellishments. The fukigaeshi (the ear-like parts on the sides of the helmet) feature intricate lion craftsmanship, and the maedate (ornament on the front) is adorned with a golden dragon, creating a very luxurious design. Helmet decorations symbolize "protection," and are displayed on Children's Day to wish for the healthy growth and success of children.
