This is a lantern/lampshade purchased about 15 years ago in Marrakech, a labyrinthine city in Morocco. (See photos for the atmosphere of the place) It's designed to hold a candle inside, and when lit, it casts fantastical shadow patterns reminiscent of Arabian Nights onto the floor and walls. The lantern is unused. (The photos were taken with a battery-operated candle inside.) Height: Approximately 36cm (including handle) Base: Approximately 18cm Color: Black. It's difficult to see in the photos, but it's painted black. ◎Damage ・Some rust. ・Some cracks and dents due to the soft material. ・Some of the black paint is chipped. ・Some dust is caught on the pointed parts of the iron. ・A lump of adhesive is attached to the bottom. (Original) It's not as sturdy as lanterns sold in Japan, but it was handcrafted by local artisans, each one hammered and carved from iron sheets.
