This is an eight-sun Nagoya obi with a very auspicious design featuring a vibrant fan motif dancing on a navy blue background. The colors are closest in images 1-3. The fan, revered as "suehirogari" (spreading out for good fortune) from its expanding shape, is woven with dignified flowers such as chrysanthemums and peonies. Gold threads applied throughout add a refined sparkle to the navy blue background, beautifully accentuating the otaiko (drum-shaped knot) appearance. The light fabric surface is a charm of the eight-sun Nagoya obi, making it comfortable to wear for long periods without fatigue. Its firm texture makes it easy to shape, and it can be widely used by beginners and advanced wearers alike. There are slight signs of wear from being tied and one instance of a pulled thread, but they are difficult to notice as they blend into the pattern.
