Toshimasa Katō also made tableware on the occasion of the visit of Emperor and Empress in 1953. The kiln continued with the first and second generations, but was discontinued due to the lack of a successor. It is now very rare and highly popular. This coffee cup and saucer, typical of Katō Toshimasa, who specialized in fine sometsuke (blue and white porcelain), is carefully and meticulously painted with gos (blue pigment) to fill the entire surface, making the white areas stand out beautifully. It is said that Emperor Shōwa also used Katō Toshimasa's tableware, and its noble and dignified atmosphere has a profoundness and spirituality that is not found in modern Kyō-yaki (Kiyomizu-yaki) (*´꒳`*)✨ 【Size】 Please forgive any slight errors as this is amateur measurement.
