"Sashime Weaving" was founded in 1924 (Taisho 13). It was founded by Mr. Kyotei's great-grandmother, Shime Sato. The name "500 Loom Weave (Iohata Ori)," which was trademarked as a brand name in 2000, was taken from "500 Loom Garment (Iohata Goromo)," said to have been woven by the weaver princess who appears in the Tanabata legend.
