This is a set of five Bizen Hidasuki square plates from Nanzan Gama, a prominent Bizen pottery kiln. Nanzan Gama, established in 1972, has produced vases, flower containers, tea utensils, and tableware under the guidance and supervision of Living National Treasure, Mr. Yu Fujiwara, creating Bizen ware that is "beautiful, strong, and easy to use," with a simple, clear, and bold atmosphere characteristic of the Fujiwara school. These are large, thick, and weighty square plates. The size is 19.5 cm in length and width, and 1.1 cm in thickness. These works are from the late Showa to early Reiwa eras. The box shows signs of insect damage and wear, but the plates themselves are unused. They will be carefully packaged and shipped.
