This is a fine example of Matsushiro ware, a representative pottery of Shinshu. Dating from the Meiji to early Taisho periods, it is in excellent condition with no chips or damage, and is believed to be a work of the Daikanchomachi kiln, a prominent Matsushiro ware kiln. The entire piece is covered in persimmon glaze, with iron glaze applied decoratively in two places on the rim. The condition is very good. The size is: 20 cm mouth diameter, 12.8 cm base diameter, and 18.5 cm height. It will be carefully packed and shipped.
