The natural snake skin pattern is large, and the karakui (tuning pegs) are all black ebony, which is cool! For those who want a slightly different and stylish sanshin. Inexpensive sanshin mostly have artificial skin (synthetic leather) with a printed snake pattern. However, this sanshin is an authentic one with real snakeskin. Because it's natural skin, it has a more emotional sound, unlike the tinny sound of artificial skin (synthetic leather) sanshin, and it has the sound quality of what you might call Okinawan blues. Moreover, it's a reinforced skin, making it less likely to tear, and it's a recommended instrument. (There are also many flimsy, toy-like sanshin in this world. It's difficult to judge with online private sales that rely only on photos, so please be careful. Especially with set sales.) This is a used sanshin, so it's a one-of-a-kind item.
