Godai (Fifth Generation) Ichikoku-sai Kinjo The third son of the Fourth Generation Ichikoku-sai. Graduated from the architectural painting and construction division of Hiroshima Prefectural Technical High School in Taisho 14 (1925). He became a disciple of Jitoku Akatsuka, a member of the Imperial Art Academy, and mastered gold lacquer (Kinsubae). After returning to Hiroshima, he studied Takamori-e (raised lacquer) under his father, Shimei. He exhibited and won awards at the Tokyo Commercial and Industrial Exhibition. He was designated as an Intangible Cultural Property of Hiroshima Prefecture along with the Fourth Generation Ichikoku-sai. He received the Hiroshima Cultural Award and other awards, and in 1987, he was awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Fifth Class. Size: Approximately 6.7 cm in diameter.
