Initially, it was announced on October 21st, 2023, at the "MX Matsuri AKB48 62nd Single 'Idol Nanka Ja Nakattara' Release Commemoration Concert" at the Nippon Budokan, that a new performance (title undecided) would start on December 8th, 2023, AKB48's 18th anniversary, but it was announced that it would be postponed twice. The first day of the performance was held on December 8th, 2024, for the 19th anniversary. Produced by Yasushi Akimoto, the group began its activities in 2005, based in Akihabara, Tokyo (Sotokanda, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo). The operating company and talent agency is DH Co., Ltd., and the record label is EMI Records (Universal Music). It is the first group to be formed within the AKB48 group. It has been active for about 20 years since its formation and continues to be active today. It has its own dedicated theater in Akihabara, Tokyo, called "AKB48 Theater."
