The full-scale production of bowls began in the mid-Edo period, and it is a traditional craft that developed mainly in Kawatsura, Akita Prefecture, in the late Edo period. ★ It is made using a painstaking technique of applying a persimmon tannin and raw lacquer base, repeating the middle coat 5 or 6 times to make it more durable, and finishing with the Hananuri technique for the top coat. ★ It has a glossy and beautiful color. I think it will match any bowl or rice bowl. ★ There are some parts of the chopsticks that have slight bumps or scratches.
