This is a high-quality, artist-made visiting kimono (tsukesage) made from a fine tsumugi fabric with a crisp texture and slub yarn woven into the weft. The base is dyed a dove gray-purple color, with diagonal lines on the upper front. Adorable rabbits, fruits, and birds are depicted in the areas dyed with a tie-dye technique. The lining (hakke) is made of silk in a fragrant color (egg color), and the body lining (dōura) is also silk, hand-sewn. The collar lining has a snap closure, and the garment is carefully tailored. The pattern name and the artist's signature are on the lower front panel (okumi). There are some noticeable slubs, but we ask for your understanding as this is a characteristic of hand-spun tsumugi. This is a piece that is not too cute nor too flashy, exuding an air of sophistication for experienced kimono wearers. It has been treated with Pearl Tone processing.
