This is a carpet beater, a tool used to beat the dust out of carpets. It's made by bending and processing sturdy rattan and can actually be used. It's also stylish as an interior decoration. It's old, so it has some dirt. There are some frayed areas. I bought this over 10 years ago after seeing it displayed in an interior design book by Masaki. I have 4-5 of them because I collected different designs, so I'm selling them to declutter. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned, as this is an antique item.
