We tried them on in the store and they felt good, so we bought them even though they were a display item. However, after actually kicking a ball around, the child felt some discomfort and they didn't seem to fit well. We tested them on a sandy elementary school field, so we wiped them down, but some dirt remains on the instep area. There are scratches and dirt on the toes and the studs on the soles. Since these were a display item, there may also be some pre-existing scratches and dirt. We will use recycled cardboard boxes we have at home for shipping.
