This is a French antique dessert plate from Saint Amand. Saint Amand was founded in northern France in 1705 and closed its kiln in 1950, after changing its company name several times. The backstamp on this plate is the Moulin des Loups & Hamage mark, which features an impressive windmill. This backstamp was used from around 1928. As the series name, LES CHANSONS, suggests, the design is inspired by actual songs, with the song title at the top of the design and a portion of the lyrics at the bottom.
