It's made of synthetic fibers, but has a matte texture, so it doesn't have that typical shiny, flimsy look of synthetic fabrics. It's a washable kimono, so you can wear it casually. Wash with regular detergent and spin for 1 minute. I wash mine with EMAR (a delicate laundry detergent)(^^) *There is a stain on the inside. It's not noticeable when worn. *The accompanying Nagoya obi has stains throughout. They are not very noticeable when worn. The price reflects this.
