First edition, 1997. The cover shows signs of aging, but the book itself is in good condition. This is the last of four photo books released by Takahashi at the age of 22. I've heard that Takahashi had some very supportive fans, and this book makes it easy to understand why. Like Yumi Adachi, there's a kind of destiny that comes with leaving a strong impression as a child actor, something you have to carry with you as you grow up. Although not to the same extent as Adachi, Takahashi had representative works like the movies "Kidnapping Report" and "Kai" around the age of 10. In fact, the previous year, an affair with a famous actor was revealed. The actor was hounded by the tabloids, but Takahashi's name was barely mentioned. Recently, there were male and female actors whose affair was reported, and they were shut out by most media outlets. Perhaps it's a difference in the times. That actor was even kicked out of his house by his wife and was reportedly sleeping in a camper van, which was covered with a voyeuristic sense of amusement. In any case, Takahashi was able to release the photo book without serious damage, and I can understand why that actor might have been confused. Since she was primarily an actress, avoiding high exposure was a natural choice, but some people might have found that disappointing. There is one film in which she showed her nude body (not from her child actor days, but around the age of 20). It was directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi, who was also known as a "strip-tease" director for idols, but the current availability of Obayashi's works on streaming or physical media is spotty, and it's uncertain whether it's readily available.
