This is a Gold Feather, a super-thin dress watch released in 1960 (Showa 35). The model is 14k gold-filled, and based on the reference number (J15002E), it's estimated to be from around 1961-1962. I received it from my parent over 40 years ago. The leather strap was torn, and the plastic crystal was cracked, so I had it overhauled at the time, and the crystal was replaced. Perhaps because I had it done at a local watch shop, the crystal is slightly thicker than the original, and there are tiny crack patterns that are not visible in the photos due to aging (by the way, I often see other watches on other sites where the crystal has been replaced but isn't as thin as the original). After that, I never got around to replacing the strap and just kept it in storage. The case has some areas where the gold fill appears to be peeling on the back (photos 5 and 6), but otherwise, it's relatively clean. There are small scratches or dents on the lugs (the parts that hold the strap) (photos 7-10 and others). The spring bars need to be replaced. The watch runs for two days without issue after being hand-wound. Why not pair it with your favorite strap and wear it? Please understand that it is over 60 years old. #ShowaRetro #Vintage #HandWinding
