RIMOWA/Rimowa 946.38 "OPAL" Beauty Case Discontinued 17L Aluminum, with Key ■ This is the RIMOWA Opal 946.38 beauty case. In the 1999 model year, when most of RIMOWA's lineup switched to dial locks, this Opal, with its retro feel, uniquely continued to use the Sudhaus latch lock key system CODE765, making it a late 90s model (and the largest of the beauty cases). Of course, it's a size that can be carried on board airplanes or in cars, and it's an aluminum case that can be used to transport valuables, fragile items, precious items, and precision machinery. It's a RIMOWA that can be stylishly kept close at hand as a camera case, tool box, sewing box, first-aid kit, or emergency kit. ■ Surprisingly, many people don't realize that dial/combination locks (with 3 digits) can be opened by anyone (in a maximum of 20 minutes) by simply trying all the combinations from 000 to 999. If you don't want others to open it, a key lock is more secure. ● The condition shows some scratches and minor scuffs from use, as well as very slight dents, but it is in good condition with a clean appearance, without any major noticeable dents, scratches, or damage. The interior has fabric on the upper lid and a vinyl waterproof liner on the main body, with some signs of use, but no damage, and a slight peeling of the adhesive is visible. (It can be re-attached with double-sided tape.) It has a plastic tray. A mirror mounting fixture is attached. (It can be removed.)
