Igarashi Mingei Shop is a hariko shop that has continued for five generations since the early Meiji era. They have preserved traditional manufacturing methods and used a secret paint made by mixing food coloring, glue (nikawa), and water. The unique deep red color is also one of its characteristics. It seems that the shop closed in 2005 after the death of the 4th generation, Eiyuki Kuriki, so this is a rare hand-made Aizu hariko decorative horse. I speculate that the artist is Shinichi Igarashi. This is an item from a collection being sorted. ■ Condition: The main body is generally in good condition as it was stored in a box, but there are some areas where the white gofun (powdered oyster shell) has slightly discolored.
