This is a Hmong turban, a headdress, purchased in Hanoi, Vietnam over 20 years ago. It features hand embroidery and pompoms on indigo-dyed cotton fabric. Even now, you can still find ethnic minority clothing and fabrics in Vietnam, but most are machine-made with tapes and ribbons sewn on by machine.
