Hagi ware changes color and luster through use, a phenomenon known as "Hagi no Nanabake" (the seven transformations of Hagi), which is endlessly fascinating and highly prized by tea masters. They are leaf-shaped, with a pattern resembling leaf veins on the surface. The varying shades of the glaze create a unique texture. The weights vary, approximately 109, 114, 116, 117, and 125g. There are also slight differences in size and height.
